earrings, haircut, cat

nice
dress: asos | earrings: milk & amber | velvet hairbow: joe fresh kids

My friend Katharine recently started blogging about fashion, vintage and thrifting in Charlottetown. It's so nice to have another PEI blogger in the mix! She's also started a vintage store, Milk & Amber, for her finds. I love these teak candlesticks, this vintage YSL scarf and this colourblocked pastel belt

both

I also got a haircut, finally, from the always wonderful Erin Gillespie. Some time in the last six months, my hair stopped curling. I don't know how or why that would happen! I'm not mad at all because I've never had tame hair in my life, but I needed a new cut to work with the new texture. It's wavy here but I assure you those are artificial curls, my hair will not do that on its own anymore.

in the bag

I don't know if this is a popular opinion but I LOVE what's in my bag posts. And packing posts! They satisfy this weird curiosity I have about what people haul around with them. Anyway, without further ado:

The bag is, of course, my old Dooney & Bourke. The contents:

1. A glow-in-the-dark Nativity set
2. a tooth cleaning syringe... thing. I was in MAJOR pain last week because of a wisdom tooth. I thought there might be an infection so I rushed over to the dentist and it turns out the pain is totally normal and I have to just deal with it. But they gave me this thing that you fill with water and squirt at the tooth. To clean it? I dunno. I haven't used it.
3. Revlon Tutti Frutti lip butter
4. My Shoppers Optimum card that went rogue in my purse
5. $11.30
6. A rolled rim from Tim Horton's, worth one free donut
7. My Poketo wallet, I can't remember who the artist is though!
8. My iPhone, my life
9. An adorable mug a friend gave me. Look how cute it is! eee

Every time I see a "What's in my bag" post I'm like

because there's no way you emptied your purse to have the contents just photogenically cascade out like that. Come on! These are all the receipts I amassed from the WEEK I've been carrying this purse again.

So there's the contents of my purse. I hope it was an enriching experience for you. I know my cat was super interested because she would not leave me alone when I was taking photos.

inappropriate footwear

old navy dress, gifted hat, thrifted angora sweater, rose ring, etienne aigner belt and doc martens, joe fresh pineapple nail colour

I wouldn't recommend wearing little shoes like this in February in Prince Edward Island. It's very slushy! and slippery. I was so tired of wearing Doc Martens though. So tired! I wonder if fashion bloggers in warmer climates realize how good they have it, that they don't have to organize every outfit around their own good pair of winter boots? Must be nice...

pssst it may be obvious from the quality of these photos, but I got a new (to me!) DSLR! It's a used Canon 20D I practically stole. Trying to take these photos with my old Canon S5IS in this light would have been a mess. And now I can finally take a photo of my black cat that doesn't look like a big black blob with eyes. LOOK AT THOSE LIDDLE FEATURES what a cutie eh?

something new

A few things changed around since the last time I posted pictures of my made-over bedroom.
