running up that hill

thrifted floral romper, etienne aigner belt, ring, necklace and booties, old navy cardigan

I liberated my spring/summer clothes from storage last night. Now my closet has like, 10 times as much floral as it used to. This romper was in there. Kind of a dumb decision on my part to classify it as summer clothes, because even though it's cute and bright it's pure rayon. A rayon romper on a humid summer day is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. So uncomfortable. It's almost as bad as walking around with a droopy-crotched pair of tights. ahhhh... ANYWAY, it's totally fine in colder weather with tights though! And now since I took out all my warm weather clothes, it snowed! You can blame me guys, it's all my fault.

texas forever

old navy dress, joe fresh hoodie, thrifted denim jacket and cowboy boots

Whenever I wear cowboy boots with a dress I ALWAYS think of this scene from Friday Night Lights. I never loved Lyla's style in this series (or... anyone's, though that's not the point of FNL) but this stuck with me.

She looks so cute! So simple! So all up on Tim Riggins! Who wouldn't be jealous?

great american moments of maybe

thrifted skirt, loafers and christian dior tights, dynamite top

Thanks to Erin, I no longer have scraggly overgrown hair. Yay!!

I had a very good thrifting day today after my haircut. I found this perfect black skirt, the loafers, and the sandals and boots in this photo. I picked up a couple pairs of (surpringly well-made and comfy!) shoes at Old Navy this week too. Look at 'em all. Nice shoes.

For some reason I never heard of China, IL until a couple days ago. Which is really weird because I LOVED watching Brad Neely videos in college and considered myself a big fan. I dunno how it slipped past me. So I watched it all in a day and now I'm having a great time re-watching all my old favourites. Like this:

That song is going to be the first dance song at my wedding.

a tree that grows hearts

joe fresh top, thrifted skirt, necklace, belt and shoes, hue tights

Happy International Women's Day! I'm proud to be a woman and feminist. I'm grateful for the woman who fought for the rights I have today, and those continuing the fight today.

hungry heart

thrifted pom pom hat, leopard print shirt, angora sweater, ring, clip and doc martens, old navy rockstar jeggings

I think I fixed my colour issue by using jpgs instead of RAW files. Isn't RAW supposed to be awesome? What's happening!!

Anyway, I don't actually wear hats inside too often because it feels weird and wrong, but I like this hat I wear to keep my ears warm outside so I like to pop it into outfit photos every so often. It's also covering the spectacular hack job I did on my bangs the other night. Don't cut your own bangs! Even if you've been cutting them yourself for three years with no dire repercussions! One day they will turn on you.

remix to the remix to ignition

thrifted joe fresh skirt, gap sweater, peter pan blouse, pin, ring and doc martens, sally hansen "blue me away" nail colour

A term that doesn't seem to stick around much these days, but has always bothered me, is "remixing." Like, if you've worn something once before, the next time you wear it you credit it as "remixed." Wearing clothes, doing laundry, and wearing them again is How You Wear Clothes! It doesn't need a fancy term for it. Anyway. I've worn all these pieces a bunch of time (on and off the blog) because I like them and want to wear them a lot. Except for the Doc Martens. I hope you're not tired of them because I'm SICK of them and can't wait until all the snow melts and I can wear something else on my feet.

PS My photos are still kinda screwy on the colour-front. I should probably fix that eh.

mushroom hunting

gogo vintage dress, hue tights, thrifted doc martens and strawberry necklace

WOW the colours in these photos are screwy. Any advice? I'm no pro at photo editing but I swear these looked better before I uploaded them to Flickr.

This is nerdy but this dress reminds me of a line at the end of a Harry Potter book, before Harry returns to Privet Drive and predicts that it will be "hot and leafy" which I always thought was the a great way to describe warm weather. This dress is hot and leafy! If it made a sound it would sound like that annoying bug that makes the long high-pitched buzzing noise. ...Thank God it doesn't though.
