melting away

floral cropped pants: thrifted
t-shirt: smart set
loafers: old navy
necklace: vintage

I can't tell if this print is cool 50s retro or old lady on vacation. I will wear them anyway, I guess? If you think pants like this would be too warm for a humid summer day, you would be RIGHT. I nearly melted taking these photos. But I was actually freezing in my air-conditioned office all day. I had to fetch a sweater for the afternoon. I just can't win.

I'm using a weird trick I got from this post a while back. To get a boat-neck in the front and a low back I just... wore a scoopneck t-shirt backwards. I really need to cut the tag out of this shirt if I do it again because it's embarrassing enough when someone points out that your tag is sticking out and your shirt is backwards... even more so when you have to say "I know, I did it on purpose"

  2. I have the same complaint about working in an office during the summer. Who decides that the ideal temperature is between meat storage and ice caps?

  3. I was going to tell you how much I love the cut of your t-shirt, then I was informed of its deceiving ways. I will have to try that one out. Those pants are thrifted?! So jelly.

  5. Just found your blog via emily and have to say I think the trousers are definitely on the 1950s vacation side, great they are thrifted. Also I have the same problem with air conditioning, makes it so hard to know what to wear!

  6. Fabulous printed pants. I am amazed you survived the heat lately in them, but with the office a/c story it makes much more sense.

  7. Omg those pants are perfection! Perfectly back in style. Anyone calling them granny-like at this point is just a hater. ;)

  9. I love the floral pants, and I giggled because sometimes I buy a vintage piece and wonder if I'm the only one who thinks it's retro and cool and everyone else thinks I look like a grandma! For the record, you don't look like an old lady at all!
